Purpose & Goals

APRA Foundation Berlin for Multi-Diciplinarity

The Adrian Piper Research Archive Foundation, aka APRA, was established in 2022, in order to advance multidisciplinary creative inquiry and education in the arts and sciences. These endeavors have defined and enriched the course of Adrian Piper's own life and work. The Adrian Piper Research Archive is maintained as a document of Piper's activities in her chosen areas of specialization of art and philosophy, including Vedic philosophy. It offers a case study of the wide-ranging impact and consequences of multidisciplinarity for individual development and survival. The Foundation aims to protect, preserve and offer public access to the Adrian Piper Research Archive, for the benefit of those students, scholars, curators, collectors, writers, and members of the general public who have a constructive curiosity or scholarly or professional interest in it. APRA supports research that exemplifies, models, analyzes, and/or theorizes the creative multidisciplinary expressions of the self that are encouraged by globalization and cross-cultural journeying. These are the themes and preoccupations that stand at the center of all of Piper's work.
